Your Attitude to Work Must Meet Best Practices Always – Chief Chinwendu Chukwu To NYSC Staff

The Coordinator of NYSC Rivers State, Chief Chinwendu Ogbonnaya Chukwu, has charged staff of the secretariat to ensure that their attitude to work meet best practices and are value based always.

He stated that it is in achieving the above in the discharge of our duties will we be able to meet the expectations of our stakeholders, corps members and publics.

Chief Chukwu made the above assertion today while presiding over a general staff meeting held at the secretariat complex.

Appraising the performance of staff in the first quarter of the year, he commended them for their commitment, diligence and dedication to duty, noting however, that there is a great room for improvement especially in the area of punctuality to work.

The Mene Yereba Nepyamiughon of Ogoni kingdom commended field officers for their good job, especially the Local Government Inspector of Ogu/Bolo local government area, Mrs. Onyinyechi Ihemawuluotu for standing out during a routine inspection of her LGA by a team of Inspectors from NDHQ Abuja and for attracting corps lodges and local government office for the Scheme in the Council.

He assured that he will soon pay a thank you visit to the Chairman of Ogu/Bolo LGA as well as other council chairmen who have supported the Scheme towards its successful implementation/execution of her policies and programmes and directed the Public Relations Unit to work out the visit.

On proper records keeping, the Team Leader warned officers to ensure proper record keeping, noting that it is misconduct in the public service rules to fail to keep proper records, an offence he said could lead to termination of appointment.

In this regard, he charged officers on posting from one schedule to another to ensure proper handing/taking over (documented) at all times so as not to leave anything to chance.

The meeting featured review of 2020 Batch A Stream 1 orientation course, issues of staff and corps members welfare as well as briefs from heads of branches and units.
