World Youth Day:Anambra Speaker Hails Nigerian Youths

As the world marks this year’s International Youth Day, the Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Somtochukwu Udeze, has described the youth as an important component of society and back bone of every nation.

In his goodwill message to the youth of the state as they joined their counterparts in celebrating their day, Right Honorable Udeze enjoined the Federal Government to map out empowerment programmes to engage the youth into meaningful ventures.

The Speaker who commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for creating an enabling environment for the youth in the state to showcase their potential and earn a living, assured that the state legislature would continue to enact laws and resolutions aimed at improving the status and wellbeing of the youths.

He expressed satisfaction that Anambra State was leading the nation’s campaign on youth inclusiveness in governance, adding that the One Youth, Two Skills Programme of the Soludo Administration had changed the lives of the youth in the state for the better.

Right Honourable Udeze, while urging the youth in the state to shun acts capable of debasing their integrity, such as political thuggery, rape, kidnapping and other vices, advised them to uphold those virtues that would guarantee them a bright future.
