– St Theresa’s Nursery/Pri School Head teacher

The head teacher of St Theresa’s Nursery and Primary School, Egbengwu Nimo, in Njikoka LGA, Rev Sister Lucia Okonofia, MJ, has restated the commitment of the school in inspiring the pupils towards the attainment of academic and sports excellence. Rev Sister Okonofia stated this at the graduation ceremony of the school, July 29, in the school’s premises.
Sister Okonofia recalled how the school’s pupils excelled at some academic and sports competitions in the state which included second position at the Nimo Debate Competition; scooping of silver and bronze medals in the long jump and high jump events at the 2023 Anambra State Schools Sports, among others.
‘Our school desires to inspire pupils to excel in academics and all other positive areas of life and the aforementioned facts are only the beginning,’ she stated.
While thanking the parents, teachers and non-tutorial staff for their contributions, which led to the procurement of a bigger school bus, Sister Okonofia however lamented that the school still faced many challenges which were militating against the progress of the school.
She gave the challenges as lack of a school hall for Masses and large group activities; need for land space to widen the school playground; need for the procurement of more desktop computers to enhance practical learning; need to procure such other items like tables and chairs for the kindergarten section; toys and teaching aids like TV sets; as well as landscaping the reception area within the school’s premises.
She enjoined the dignitaries to endeavor to identify with the school by sponsoring any of the stated projects in whole or in partnership with the school.
The event was attended by many dignitaries in the community including the chairman of the occasion, Mr OkeyIbida; the PTA Chairman, Mr PantaleonIkeora; Mr Sunday Otugo, among others.
