The pioneer president of Catholic Men’s Organisation, Catholic Diocese of Ekwulobia (CMO-CADEK), Mr Vitus Uzor, has said that the CMO of the new diocese will make the moral growth of the members and grassroots evangelization, its focus.
Mr Uzor, who stated this in his inaugural speech at the inauguration of the pioneer executive of CMO-CADEK at St Joseph’s Cathedral, Ekwulobia, last Monday, November 16, said the organisation would pay important attention to the morality of the members so as to enable the CMO of the new diocese to start off on a good foundation.
He exhorted the Catholic men against immoral behaviour, such as drunkenness and adultery, noting that such were inimical to one’s positive growth.
Pointing out that the family was a domestic Church, and the power to bless in the family was bestowed on the fathers, Uzor charged the members to live up to their responsibilities, as well as make peace, unity and love, the core values of their families.
He however called on the executive members of the CMO at all levels of the parish, deanery and diocese, whose families were not in peace, to, as leaders, restore the needed peace in their homes within three months. This was even as he advised the members to toe the same line.
The president, who announced that the organisation would immediately key into the grassroots evangelisation focus of the new Catholic Diocese of Ekwulobia, said the CMO diocesan executive would soon embark on visits to the parishes and the deaneries.
He tasked the CMO executives at all levels on availability and commitment to their responsibilities so as to give the organisation its supposed pride of place.
