We Want Peaceful Campaigns, Anambra CP Tells Parties

By Jude Atupulazi

In an effort to sustain the existing public order and public safety in the state, the Commissioner of Police, Anambra State, CP Tony Olofu, has sued for peace and tolerance among political parties. He made the call, September 22, during an interaction with the parties’ representatives at the Anambra State Police Command, Awka.

The CP assured the people of Anambra State that the Police were committed to working with other patriotic stakeholders towards ensuring public order in the state before, during and after the political rallies.

Meanwhile, the CP has promised to be on ground to coordinate the security deployment and ensure hitch-free rallies. The CP therefore called on members of the general public to coordinate themselves and cooperate with the security agents in the course of discharging their constitutional duty.

This was contained in a press statement signed by DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, PPRO, Anambra State Police Command.
