The State chairman of National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, Anambra State Chapter, His Youthfulness Surv. Emeka Obi, has called on Governor Chukwuma Soludo to consider making available their subvention so as to enable it to carry out its duties and enlightenment at the grassroots.

The Youth chairman made the plea during the flag off of NYCN, Anambra State Chapter’s Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Training held at Youth House, Awka.

‘We are pleading with the Abambra State government to kindly release our subvention. It will go a long way in helping us achieve our set objectives. It will enable the Council to carry out its policies and programmes, as well as to function effectively and efficiently,’ he stated.

Comrade Obi noted that the Youth Council was working in collaboration with the state government to achieve its objective in youth development, even as he assured that the state chapter of NYCN was prepared to support the government.

Flagging off the ICT Training Exercise, the Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Patrick Agha Mba, said the concept was in line with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s vision to take the state youths to the next level.

He said the ministry would embark on massive youth empowerment with over 400 master trainers from the 179 communities in the state in 20 different skills in order to make the youths of the state useful to the state.

Mr Agha Mba called on the youths to believe in themselves, advising them to put all hands on deck with the new administration in order to make the transformation agenda workable.

He commended the current leadership of the NYCN for what he described as its serious commitment and impact toward youth development in the state, promising to give the leadership all the necessary support it deserved from the state government.

The Deputy National President, NYCN, Mr. Innocent Nduanya, commended the state government for its plan to ensure that the youths of the state were productive.

He thanked the commissioner for his support and prayed that God would give him the knowledge and wisdom to pilot the youths’ affairs.
