Ten years after they lost late Seminarian Modestus Okwudili Enemuoh to a motor accident in Abuja, the late Sir Pius & late Lady Alice Enemuoh Family of Isulo, Orumba South L.G.A, Anambra State, has said they are celebrating late Okwy’s (as he was fondly called), 10 Years Memorial with the gift of a priest.

Speaking to Fides at the reception of the first Isulo indigenous Catholic priest, Rev Fr Emmanuel Chibuikem Oguejiofor, at St Charles’ Borromeo Catholic Parish, Isulo, on Sunday, July 14, 2019, the first and only indigenous religious of the town, Rev Sr Mary Geraldine Ify Enemuoh, DDL, thanked God for the gift of the priest on his late brother’s memorial anniversary.

The female religious who is celebrating her 23 Years Religious Profession this 2019 said, ‘I am short of words. I thank God for the gift of the first Catholic priest of Isulo. Honestly, my late brother Okwudili went to heaven to intercede for us, and that’s why we are celebrating his 10 Years Memorial Anniversary with the gift of a priest. I know that he is happy that God has answered our prayers. I am sincerely happy that it has pleased God to add another person to this vocation in His vineyard. The Catholic Community has been praying, and eventually God answered our prayers’.

She continued, ‘I thank God for the prayers answered. I pray that God continue to call many Isulo people into the priestly and religious vocations. Let them come in, and experience the joy in serving the Lord. As a religious of 23 years, I am very much fulfilled’.

Rev Sr Enemuoh prayed God to bless the new priest with the needed grace to be focused, obedient to the voice of God and to persevere in his vocation till the end. She advised the seminarians, who are undergoing their formation in the seminarians to be focused, wait on the will of God and pray always, saying that prayer is the key to success.

It will be recalled that late Okwudili Enemuoh, who was born in 1977, died as a senior seminarian of the Missionaries of Divine Mercy Congregation, in an accident after a car hit the motorcycle he boarded on his way to Church on that Sunday Morning, May 17, 2009. He was buried on buried on May 29, 2019.
