The Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, His Lordship Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor, has urged the new Chairman of Anambra State Football Association, ANSFA, Mr Chikelue Iloenyosi, to use his wealth of experience as an ex-International to make Anambra State football great again.
Bishop Ezeokafor gave the advice while playing host to Iloenyosi in his office at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cathedral, Awka.
The prelate enjoined him to put in the same zeal that saw him play for all the categories of the Nigeria national teams, including the U-17, U-19, U-20, U-23 Olympic Eagles and Super Eagles to work as the FA chairman.
He pointed out that football activities would surely redirect the youths and he assured that the Church would collaborate with and assist the FA in their activities.
Responding, Iloenyosi thanked the bishop for finding time to receive him and for the advice he gave him.
He highlighted various activities he had undertaken within the first three months of his assumption of Office to include holding of memorial service for late footballers and administrators of Anambra State extraction.
He assured Bishop Ezeokafor that he would never disappoint him as regards the expectations and confidence reposed on him.
Iloenyosi was accompanied on the visit by Dumebi Onubiyi (LFC Njikoka); Comrade Abuchi Onwumelu (LFC Idemili North); Ifeanyi Ojukwu (SSA to the chairman) and Ikemefuna Asika – Media Officer.
