UNIZIK 2021 Computer Science Students Visit Fides Media

A group of 2021 final year students of Computer Science Department, Nnamdi Azikwe University, Awka, Tuesday, visited their course mate, Rev Fr Pio-Anthony Okafor, Deputy Director II, Fides Media, at Fidesplex, Awka.

The Deputy Director II took the students who just completed their final exams, Friday, May 28, 2021, on a tour of Fides media facilities, including the farm, an arm of the company which is under his supervision, among others.

In a discussion with Rev Fr Martin Anusi, Director, Fides Media, the students were advised to think carefully about their next steps. He reminded them of the need to get prepared for life after school.

‘What next after school? Are your prepared to face life after school?’ Fr Anusi asked.

Chibuike Michael Okonkwo, one of the students, expressed his happiness to finally visit Fides Media after he had heard a lot about the media outfit.

‘I am a Catholic, I have heard a lot about Fides Media. I can say Fides does great in reporting good news stories. It motivates people a lot.

‘Thank you, Fides Media, for the great job you have been doing,’ Chibuike gushed.

While talking to Fides Media, Fr Okafor appreciated his course mates for visiting him and for studying with him during his days in school.

‘I only pray that they work out their dream and bring it to actualization. With faith in themselves and in God, they will do much to change themselves and society,’ Fr Okafor said

While speaking with Fides Media, Uchenna Eucharia Alaguba expressed joy to finally graduate from her institution. When asked what were her plans after school, she said she would want to learn more skills.

Talking about how it feels to be a female in a male dominated course, Alaguba expressed joy to be able to take up the challenge. ‘I see it as a challenge; therefore, a reason to buckle up and I see myself wanting to do my best in it. I am not bothered about it. I just want to do my best and of course, practice it,’ she said

She appreciated Fides Media for accommodating the students, describing Fides as welcoming.

‘We just came and everybody seem happy to see us. We have gone around this place and seen different things. The Director even addressed us. I enjoyed myself,’ Alaguba said about Fides Media.
