Udeze Emerges Speaker of New Anambra State Assembly

The Acting Clerk, Anambra State House of Assembly, Mrs. Esther Anaetoh, has inaugurated the Eighth Anambra State House of Assembly, following a proclamation of the House by Governor Chukwuma Soludo, with the member representing Ogbaru II Constituency, Right Honourable Somtochukwu Udeze, emerging the Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly.

Hon Udeze, a three-time member of the House, was elected unopposed after he was nominated by Hon Ikenna Udedeme, member representing Ekwusigo Constituency, and was seconded by Hon John Mark Ikwunne, representing Awka North Constituency.

Hon Chukwuma Okoye, representing Awka South II Constituency, emerged Deputy Speaker of the House.

Hon. Okoye was elected unopposed after he was nominated by the member representing Ogbaru 1Constituency, Hon Noble Igwe and seconded by the member representing Ihiala I Constituency.

The Acting Clerk, Mrs. Anaetoh, who administered the oath of allegiance to the Speaker, Right Hon Udeze, and the Deputy Speaker, Hon Okoye, charged the House to work for the unity and development of Anambra State.
