Triple Celebration at AUSTICA: Climax Action, First Holy Communion, Birthday

AUSTICA Memorial College Nanka, in Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State, was a beehive of activities on Sunday July 1, 2018, as over twelve secondary schools gathered for a tripartite set of events. AUSTICA College marked her Young Catholic Students (YCS) Climax Action day, First Holy Communion was given to candidates, as well as birthday celebration of AUSTICA seminarian.
The events began with an Holy Mass with AUSTICA Manager Rev Fr (Barr) Obiorah Okeke as the chief celebrant, and Assistant Manager, Rev Fr Jerry Ikezue as the homilist. Fr Ikezue in his sermon advised students to do things the right way always so as to uplift titled ‘’wickedness in the world’’ humanity. He frowned at people who would always be careless and reckless with their lives, yet heap the blame on God. “A driver would use worn out tyres till they burst and injures people and will place the blame on God or the devil seeking intervention in an avoidable situation” Fr Ikezue said. He called on all the secondary schools students who gathered for the events, as well as the first Holy Communion candidates to live the right way, bearing in mind that they are the future of this generation.
Igba Umuoma and Igba Mmanwu, all of AUSTICA thrilled the guests. St John of God Secondary School Awka presented a dance too. Solo music was given by Rosa Mystica High School Agulu, while, St Anthony’s Secondary School Ikenga and St John of God Awka took part in fashion parade. The host school AUSTICA would later cap it with a comedy drama titled ‘Work of Faith’ and a type of dance called ‘A-Dance’ (ACTION DANCE). YCS Scarfs were blessed and given to new YCS students who were inducted.
Other schools that attended the celebrations included; St Anthony’s Catholic Comprehensive Institute Agulu (SACCIA), Jesurites College Nanka, Madonna Girls Umunze and Community Secondary School Adazi. Others were; Community Secondary School Isuofia, Community High School Nanka, Loretto Girls Adazi, Igwebuike Grammar School Awka, Konigin Des Friedens College Uga and Community Secondary School Obeledu.
Some of the dignitaries present at the occasion were, Chief Lolo Mrs Ego Ilorah and Prof Can Nwankwo of the PTA. A former Dean of Oko Poly, Dr Lady Nkem Nwankwo was present alongside, Chief Patrick Nwankwo formerly of Government Health Center Obosi.
