Hon Simon and Lady Priscilla Aniefuna on 31st December, 2021, celebrated their 50 years of matrimony. The celebration was also to mark the 80th and 76th birthdays of Hon Simon and Lady Priscilla Aniefuna respectively. The celebration commenced with a concelebrated Holy Mass led by Fr. Clifford Aniefuna.
Delivering his homily, Fr. Joseph Nwana charged the couple to live the rest of their lives bequeathing their legacies to the younger generation; charging their children to care for their parents with love.
The homilist also advised the children to continue to uphold unity in its entirety, stating that unity was the only cord that could keep them together in difficult moments.
Also speaking at the event, Fr. Clifford Aniefuna extolled the couple for their togetherness and oneness over the 50 years of their marriage, which, Fr. Clifford said, was an exemplary one which young people and young marriages should emulate.
Giving his vote of thanks, Hon Simon appreciated friends and families who joined in his celebration. According to him, the success of his marriage could be attributed to God’s providence and mercy. He also lauded his wife whom he said had been nothing but a bundle of goodness in their marriage, even to other members of the family.
Highlights of the celebration were exchange of gifts, cutting of cake and dance.
