Think Anambra, Not Party – Sen Uche Ekwunife

The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial Zone, Senator Uche Ekwunife, November 20, charged Ndi Anambra to look beyond party lines and think more of Anambra as a state.

The Senator made this statement while addressing guests and students of St. John of God Secondary School,Awka, during the pastoral visit of the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most. Rev. Dr Paulinus Ezeokafor in Awka; Awka South Local Government Area of the state.

She commended the level of development mission schools had been receiving since the return of schools to the mission; even as he expressed trust and hope for the Catholic Church in changing society.

The senator, who also believed the right candidate won, charged all to stand by him in making Anambra a better place, even as she called for oneness among Anambarians regardless of party affiliations.

‘In the last election, for some of you who voted for APGA, you did well. Even though I am PDP, I think we have the right candidate that can move the state forward. We should think about Anambra, not about party,’ the Senator said.

The lawmaker who saw no need to dwell on what had happened in the last election, said there was no need for court cases as the election was free, fair and credible.

‘I belong to PDP, we also had our candidate but the fact remains that the election was fair and credible. There’s no need going to court, the election was done well,’ she said.

In the same light, the senator who was described by guests as a philanthropist and hope for not just Anambra Central but the state at large, stressed her commitment in delivering her mandate and upholding the trusts that had be given to her by her constituents in the delivery of good governance and beneficial projects.
