There was a master searching for a vessel to use! On the shelf, there were many vessels. “Take me and use me”, cried the Golden vessel: I am shiny and bright. I am of great value and I do things just right. My beauty and lustre will outshine the rest, and for someone like you master, gold will be best. (Self-Pride and arrogance)” The master passed on without a word.
Next came the Silver vessel: “master, I will serve you, I will pour out your wine. My lines are so graceful; my carvings so true and my silver will always compliment to you”. (trusting on one’s ability thinking that it takes only human strength to serve God not grace) Again, the master looked at it and moved on to the vessel of Brass: “Oh master, look at me. Here am I. I know I will do.
Place me on your table for all to see (Serving God, just to show Self).” The unsatisfied master passed on and came to the Vessel of wood: it said: you may use me dear master, but I prefer you use me for fruit, not for bread.” (choosing for yourself how best it pleases you to serve God) The now angry master finally came across the vessel of Clay, which said: “I am empty and broken, I am helpless not fit for use.”
“AH!” the excited and impressed master exclaimed at such humility. “This is the vessel I have been looking for, I will mend and use it and make it mine… to my taste! He gently lifted up the vessel of clay and mended it, filled it and spoke to it: “this work you must do –just pour out to others as I have poured into you.
Oh what a story and what a school! That you might be a VESSEL OF CLAY TO GOD TODAY. The vessel of clay was a humble vessel that accepted its helplessness and by doing that he attracted the master’s mercy. Just like David said in the book of psalms 51:17- THE ACCEPTABLE TO GOD IS A BROKEN SPIRIT AND A CONTRITE HEART, O GOD, THOU WILL NOT DESPISE. God loves those that are humble and he raises the lowly, no matter the sin.
All God wants you to do is to accept that you are a sinner and sincerely go back to him with a broken and sorry heart, just like Mary Magdalene. She was a prostitute, but the words of Christ that she may have overheard touched her deeply. She came to Jesus Christ with tears and fell on his feet weeping greatly, Jesus was moved by her act of repentance and mercy was granted to her immediately. She later became a disciple and till today, we are still talking about her.
That is it. He will re-mould you and make you clean, new, and pure, just like He did to that vessel of Clay…. And remember, Grace is given only to the humble. Do not allow pride to rule your heart. If you really want to be a true vessel that meets the master’s purpose, you must be humble and submissive to the owner of your life today! ….. Jesus loves you!
No matter the situation you are passing through, do not give up …. Look unto Jesus the author and finisher of your faith, He is ever willing and able to help you. Sometimes, God allows most situations to come to you. Not that He hates you but because He is making you strong and fit for a better purpose.
Be strong and have faith. Remember, “GOLD IS NOT GOLD UNTIL IT PASSES TROUGH FIRE!”. WHAT HE ALLOWS YOU TO PASS THROUGH IS A MENDING PROCESS OF PRODUCING A VESSEL OF HONOUR {IF JOSEPH WAS NOT HATED BY HIS BROTHERS, THROWN INTO THE WELL, SOLD AS A SLAVE, BEACAME A HOUSE BOY, HUMILIATED FOR REJECTING TO SIN, SENT TO PRISON, THEN HE WOULD NEVER HAD BEEN A PRIME MINISTER! INFACT, ALL THESE LED HIM TO HIS GREATNESS. SO JUST TRUST GOD. DO NOT HATE HIM. DO NOT COMPLAIN OR LEAVE HIM. HE IS JUST TAKING YOU TO THAT GREAT PLACE OF HIS GRACE.IT IS THE PAIN THAT ATTRACTS HIS COMFORT AND HELP…. PRAYER: O GOD HAVE MERCY ON ME AND HELP ME TO BE HUMBLE, HELP ME TO FOLLOW YOU TILL I REACH THE PEAK OF MY GREATNESS IN JESUS NAME AMEN. GRACE BE UNTO YOU.
