Super Eagles new kit has been unveiled and the new design has been inspired by the tradition agbada.
It is understood that Nigerian national teams will be wearing a new look after sport kit giant, Nike, released the outfit last Thursday.
Super Eagles in any moment will be wearing new jerseys for the execution of their international outings.
The last design was accepted globally and was named the best kit of the Russia 2018 World Cup.
And after almost two years, the three-time African champions are making a U-turn on a new kind of mind blowing green and white jersey with a touch of the African culture.
The home kit design is a fusion of traditional aesthetic of an agbada robe with a mixture of modern western design, while the away kit which will be worn be Nigerian stars in their away matches is inspired by ‘Onaism’ which mean pulling out.
Broader collection of Super Eagles apparel includes a poncho, vest, dress, and more.
Fans have been buzzing with positive comments on social media about the home and away designs.
Speaking to Fides, one fan who pleaded anonymity said: ‘Nike Football is doing a great job with the Super Eagles of Nigeria’s jersey. I just hope we win trophies with this jersey.’ He said
Another said: ‘This new Super Eagles jersey is beautiful. I just wish that the players would make us proud’.
It is understood that the present jersey sold out over 3 million copies after a few weeks it was pushed into the market by kit giant Nike.
