Bishops and priests of the Catholic Diocese of Awka under her sports department DOSAD, on Saturday February 24,2018, reopened her refurbished Diocesan tennis court at St Anthony's Catholic Church Nanka. The actual ball serve, to declare the court open for use was done by the host parish priest and Dean, Nanka Deanery, Rev Fr Christian Umeojilinnaka. The bishops and priests had gathered earlier in December 2017,  to raise fund by themselves, to refurbish and rehabilitate the three main diocesan tennis courts at Nanka, St Partricks  Cathedral, Awka and Bishop's Residence , Okpuno. This was to create a more enabling environment for priests to exercise, so as to ensure fitness for optimal output in their pastoral assignments. Addressing the large gathering of priests that gathered at Nanka for the reopening ceremony, the Priests sports welfare Cordinator, Rev Fr Peter Val Uzoezie gave a breakdown of the renovation work done at the Nanka Court by Ohans Construction Company. He also presented a detailed account of priests and bishops contributions and how they were spent. Corroborating him, the Priests Tennis Coordinator, Rev Fr John Paul Chukwuelobe commended Ohans for job well done. He commended the Directorate of Sports Awka Diocese (DOSAD), anchored by Fr Coach Obinna Dike, priests in sports, bishops, contributors and St Anthoy's parish Nanka as well as AUSTICA College Nanka for their immesurable contributions to reenacting the Nanka sports fraternity. He also commended the Awka Diocesan Priests' Fratenity (ADPF) led by Rev Fr Charles Umeoji for their significant donation towards the court rehabilitation.
