The Transition Chairman of Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State, Engr Ikeobi Ejiofor has expressed the determination and willingness of his siblings to train many footballers to would play for both national and international clubs.
He made this known while speaking to Fides during the burial ceremony of his late father, Christopher Ejikeme Ejiofor popular known as Ogene 1and Koksan following his football exploits at Secondary and University level.
He said that FC Ogene Foundation which started three years ago would exist for posterity and would be used to train young footballers to reach the climax of their potentials.
In his words 'About three or say four years ago, we started what is known as FC Ogene Foundation. This foundation has various categories such as Football Academy, Educational Scholarship, Youth Empowerment and Community Development. We will use this foundation to immortalize him so that generations to come would remember his exploits in football'.
'We want to use his name to train many young men and even girls that have dreams of becoming footballers. We know what our father likes, so this foundation is a complete package of what he has lived his life for. Now that he is dead, we will do everything within our means to make sure that he would be remembered through this FC Ogene Foundation. I believe that the activities of this foundation would keep bringing happy moments to our father anywhere might be' he stated.
