The Speaker of the Anambra House of Assembly, Right Honourable Uche Okafor, has commended Governor Willie Obiano for what he described as the wonderful support his government has continued to give to various religious bodies in the state.
In his goodwill message to the Anglican Bishop of Aguata Diocese, Right Reverend Samuel Ezeofor, on the sixteen years’ anniversary of Aguata Diocese, Right Honourable Okafor described Bishop Ezeofor as one of the deep-rooted evangelical prelates, whose spiritual attributes had elevated Aguata Diocese and the faithful greatly.
The Speaker, who also felicitated with the Deputy Majority Leader and member representing Orumba North Constituency, Sir Emeka Aforka, on his admission into the Order of knighthood of the diocese, enjoined him to utilize his new position for the service of God and humanity.
He expressed satisfaction that members of the state legislature had continued to work peacefully for the collective good of Ndi Anambra, adding that outside law making, the lawmakers had touched the lives of the citizenry positively through constituency relations.
Rt. Hon Okafor enjoined politicians in the state, irrespective of party affiliations, to give maximum support to Governor Obiano, whom he said, had projected the state highly through massive infrastructural and human development. He called for fervent prayers for the peaceful conduct of the November 6 governorship election in the state.
