The palm and coconut seedlings being distributed to communities in Anambra State by the state government has been described as something that will boost agriculture in the state. The chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Ward 1V in Nimo, Njikoka LGA, Mr Anthony Tonto Atupulazi, stated this during the distribution of seedlings in Egbengwu Nimo to families for planting, last Monday. He said it was in line with the directive of the Anambra State Government.
In his words, ‘The good people of Nimo Ward IV, Egbengwu, are appreciative of the good gesture of Governor Chukwuma Soludo, towards Agriculture, Green Initiative and Eradication of hunger in the state,’ Atupulazi, popularly known as Tonto, explained, noting that the recipients were very happy.
‘The distribution of these seedlings was a success. It was shared among the eleven council wards in Egbengwu Nimo in order to make sure it gets to all the villages. And it was also shared to every interested person, irrespective of the political party they belong to. There were no bad comments when an interview was carried out among the public to say their minds during the sharing.
‘Everyone gave the governor kudos and pledged to always give the governor their full support, while requesting that he keep doing his good work. They know his capacity and this was what made them vote for him massively.
‘We the People of Egbengwu Ojideleke Kingdom, Nimo, pray that the aim of this initiative be fulfilled in Jesus name. May God bless our Governor more and give him more grace, wisdom and protection. With Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, Anambra State will be fine again. This is just the beginning,’ the chairman gushed.
He used the opportunity to thank some stakeholders of the ward and community for their contributions, as well as his executive members in Ward 1V; just as he thanked all the village chairmen, village council wards, the Agricultural Committee led by Mr. Francis Diji and everyone that made the distribution possible as directed by the State Government.
‘And I will not also forget the massive support of Hon. Sir Pete Ibida, Ide Nimo and emeritus Majority Leader, Anambra State Legislature; the Nimo President General, High Chief Ekenenna Okafor Omabu; HRH, Igwe Maxi Oliobi (Owelle Nimo); the EBU Chairman and his committee; EBU Youth Wing Chairman and his committee; the ASATU representative, Mr Hilary Ikeanyi; Hon Nnaemeka Oraka; Hon. Ebuka Oramalu; Hon Kenechukwu Ibida; St. Mary’s Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Mmuomeya, and the APGA Nimo stakeholders. May almighty God bless you all,’ Tonto prayed.
