The governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has renamed the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, as just Ministry of Industry. Soludo disclosed this last Monday at the State Executive Council meeting held in Awka, Anambra State capital.
Consequent upon this change, the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Dr. Obinna Ngonadi, will henceforth be addressed as the Commissioner for Industry.
The Trade and Commerce aspect of the ministry, Fides learnt, will, until further notice, be domiciled under the Governor’s Office, with all activities relating to Trade and Commerce being channeled to the Governor’s Office.
This decision, it was learnt, was to enable the Ministry of Industry focus on the industrialization agenda of the governor, and for greater performance.
The above reorganization is to take immediate effect according to a press release signed by the Secretary to the Governent, Prof Solo Chukwulobelu.
