SAED is a Self-Reliant Scheme and Solution to Unemployment – Ujogu

Mr Ujogu Sam, State Coordinator, NYSC Enugu State, has told corps members that Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development, SAED, is a self-reliant program introduced to stem youth unemployment and become a permanent solution to unemployment. Mr Ujogu Sam admonished the corps members to take SAED seriously as he flagged open the SAED training on last Tuesday for the 2021 Batch A, Stream II Corps Members at the Multipurpose Hall, NYSC Enugu State Permanent Orientation Camp Awgu, Enugu State.

The program which was meant for the Sensitization and mobilization of corps members for enrolment into the skill acquisition and entrepreneurship development program had the presence of some ex  Corps members who were beneficiaries of the SAED program and they

testified to the success the program has blessed them with.

Also speaking during the opening ceremony, an expert of entrepreneurship, Mr Ndubuisi Gerald, while handling corps members on Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) lectured corps members on entrepreneurship development and its essence. He explained that the aim of the topic is to develop the key skills to run a business and these skills can be developed from entrepreneurial qualities

Corps members were enjoined by the officials to acquire a skill in Horticulture, Cosmetology, Agro-Allied, Solar Panel installation and other skill sets as they will help create self sustainable development youths and ease unemployment vices, which are the major intent for why the program was established.
