. . . Salutes Obiano on Inauguration Anniversary
By Jude Atupulazi
A business mogul and politician, Engr Dom Okafor, has congratulated all the successful candidates in the just concluded national and state assembly elections in Anambra State.
Speaking with Fides in Awka, Okafor urged them to be people oriented and work in synergy with 'Our working Governor, Chief Willy Obiano.'
He said the only way Anambra State would continue to lead the way in Nigeria was for those entrusted with the task of representing the people to carry out that task with utmost commitment, without doing anything that would over heat the polity.
On the control of the national assembly positions by opposition parties in the state, Okafor said there was nothing to be worried about as long as the people and parties concerned understood the need to put the interests of the state first in all they did.
'Whatever party they belong to does not matter so long as they know that Anambra State comes first. I advise them to cast aside party differences and work towards the progress of the state,' Okafor advised.
He also thanked the people of the state for the peaceful way they comported themselves, noting that it was a confirmation of the maturity and peace loving disposition of the people of the state.
This is even as he specially called on the newly elected and re-elected members of the state legislature to work closely with the executive arm for the interest of the state, without being unnecessarily docile.
He also used the opportunity to congratulate Gov Obiano on the anniversary of his inauguration on March 17, remarking that the state had a lot of good stories to tell under Obiano's stewardship.
