The Federal House member representing Awka North and South Federal Constituency, Hon Anayo Nebe, says his constituency projects have stood the test of time, many years after many of them were executed.

Nebe who spoke to Fides after a tour of the projects, was reacting to stories, mostly in the social media, that claimed that he was dismantling some of the boreholes he sank in parts of his constituency in anger for the people not voting for him in the last national assembly polls.

'As you can see from your visit to the various sites, these projects are not just there and functioning well, but most of them were built many years ago when I was the speaker of the State House of Assembly,' he said.

According to him, some of the projects were done between 2007 and 2011 when he was speaker, and between 2011 to date as a federal legislator.

He advised his constituents to ignore such rumours and remain realistic and hopeful of God's blessings, even as they should be alert and prayerful, insisting that the rumours were the handiwork of mischief makers.

'You can therefore see that those rumours about the boreholes being dismantled were fabricated by mischief makers who are out to tarnish my image,' Nebe told Fides.

Fides indeed gathered from a tour of the projects that all of the 22 boreholes were functional and being used by the constituents.
