An Anaocha L.G.A, Anambra State- born concerned individual, Hon. Michael-Joe Onwudinjo, has described the PDP candidate for the 2019 presidential election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and his running mate, Sir Peter Obi, CON, KSS, as the best and only solution that will save Nigeria out of its current distressed position.
Hon. Onwudinjo, who spoke at Madonna Assumpta Catholic Church, Agulu, Anaocha L.G.A., November 18, when he represented Sir Peter Obi at the priestly silver jubilee anniversary of the parish priest, Rev. Fr. Dr. Joel Okechukwu, noted that Obi was the best choice for the position to save Nigeria from the crisis currently plaguing her.
He commended the PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, for what he described as the best choice of a running mate, which, he said, Obi represented, noting that the combination would assure all religions of equal right and freedom of worship if given the mandate.
Onwudinjo decried what he termed the ruthless killing of Christians, marginalization of the Igbos and inflated economy, among other ills which had continued to distress Nigeria under the present Buhari Administration. He urged all to support the Atiku/Obi ticket so as to make the current need for a positive change in Nigeria possible.
According to him, Obi performed creditably well during his eight-year tenure as Governor of Anambra State. In his words, 'Sir Peter Obi, as the then governor of Anambra State, gave all religious sects their due rights and level playing ground for freedom of worship. He did well in both human, infrastructure and capital development.
'As a former member of the Nigerian economic team and a passionate Nigerian, Obi has been committed to the project of a better Nigeria. All Igbos in particular and Nigerians in general, should complement his good efforts by giving their votes to the Atiku/Obi ticket come the 2019 presidential election.'
He reminded the people of Agulu and the entire Igbos that it was expected of them to give full support to the Atiku/Obi ticket under the platform of PDP, their political party affiliations, notwithstanding.
