....Obiano Assures On Free, Fair Primary Election

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has held a national retreat for all the aspirants of the party. The party also presented a book.
Party faithful and aspirants across the nation gathered in Awka in preparation for the forthcoming congress cum primary election
Unveiling the insightful and historical compendium of the party which distinctively chronicles the roles of the foundation leaders of the party with particular reference to Dim Chukwuemeka Odimegwu and Senator Victor Umeh, Dr. Godwin Maduka acknowledged the roles of the two, especially Sen. Umeh.
Maduka noted that he (Umeh) led the party to numerous victories, especially through the various litigations and also for his consistency in APGA and its ideologies.
In his remarks, Sen. Umeh expressed gratitude for the honour given to him by the present leadership of the party and recounted certain remarkable experiences as the immediate past leader of the party.
He urged the aspirants to be steadfast in the party irrespective of the results of the primary elections.
He also commended the efforts of Governor Willie Obiano in leading the party to the limelight, pointing out that the defection of Rochas Okorocha in Imo state had caused a setback for the party, even as he expressed the hope that the coming elections would be a consolidation on the strength of the party.
Addressing the aspirants, Governor Willie Obiano expressed delight with the quality of personalities aspiring to contest election under APGA.
He assured aspirants of a level playing ground in the primaries, urging them to remain and grow the party even after the elections.
The National Chairman of APGA, Ozo-Nkpu Dr Victor Ike Oye, was at the helm of affairs during the retreat.
Also in attendance were, the former Minister of Information and governorship hopeful of Nassarawa State, Labaran Maku, and former National Secretary of APGA and governorship hopeful of Zamfara State, Alhaji (Dr.) Sani Shinkafi.
Among the aspirants present were Dr. Alex Otti (governorship Abia state); Sir Chikwe Udensi (governorship, Abia State); Dr. Frank Nnaji (governorship, Imo State); Senator Ifeanyi Araraume (governorship, Imo State); Dr. Ikedi Ohakim (governorship, Imo State); Senator Princess Stella Odua (Anambra North); Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah (Anambra South); Dr. Nicholas Ukachukwu (Anambra South); Amb. Bianca Odumegwu Ojukwu (Anambra South); Chief Chinedu Emeka (Anambra Noth) and the Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Rita Maduagwu.
Others were the House of Reps members and hopefuls, Hon. Ferdinand Dozie Nwankwo Anaocha, Dunukofia and Njikoka; Hon Ossy Prestige (Aba North & South); Hon. Ifeanyi Ibezi (Idemili North & South); Chief Godson Ezenagu (Awka North & South); as well as house of assembly members, Hon. Charles Azubike Okoye (Anaocha Constituency 1); Hon. Patrick Aniunoh (Onitsha South I), among others.
Prof. Chukwuma Soludo spoke on the party's ideologies and principles.
