A frontline House of Representatives hopeful in Aguata Federal Constituency, and the CEO of Jocaro Nig Limited, Engr Dom Okafor, KSM, has formally declared his aspiration to the Anambra State Town Union Presidents in Rivers State. He is contesting on the platform of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.

Addressing the body last weekend in Port Harcourt, Engr Dom Okafor who is the chairman of Igboukwu Development Union, Port Harcourt Branch, informed them that he was offering himself to "serve the good people of Aguata Federal Constituency" and thus seeking their support and prayers.

'My main motivation in this quest to represent Aguata Federal Constituency is the desire to change the narrative in the area of representation which to me and all men of good conscience has been anything but qualitative or beneficial to the majority of our people. It has not also been strong in terms of attracting the needed empowerment and dividends of democracy to the people and Aguata Federal Constituency,' he said.

According to him, Governor Willie Obiano and the APGA Government in Anambra State had proven through their track records that indeed democracy was the government of the people, by the people and for the people.
'Anambra is today the envy of all other states in Nigeria due to the unparalleled accomplishments of our Working Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, and these have motivated my aspiration, and I intend to demonstrate deep and conscientious capacity in my representation so that the people can feel the difference,' Engr Dom Okafor stated.

In their response and words of encouragement, the Board of Trustees and Patrons of Anambra Town Unions led by HRH Igwe Sir Ben Emeka, (Igwe of Umueri), praised and supported Engr Dom Okafor for his aspiration.

According to him, 'These are the kind of men and women we desire in Anambra State to represent the people so that the people of Anambra State can experience quality representation. Men of good pedigree, respected and successful in their field of endeavours,' Igwe Emeka said of Okafor.

Igwe Emeka also used the opportunity to explain to the people the reasons behind the recent ban of Okada in Awka and Onitsha metropolis, pointing out that the government acted on the best interest of the people.
He said that most of the Okada operators used them to perpetrate all kinds of atrocities like robbery, kidnapping and rape.

The body finally wished Engr Dom Okafor well, and prayed for his success in his aspiration.
