Aguata Metropolis Rotary Club Honours Engr Dom Okafor

The Rotary Club of Aguata Metropolis was formally chattered, Thursday, 12 July, 2018. During the ceremony at Orthon Palace Hotel, Ekwulobia, Rtn Engr. Dom Okafor, MD JOCARO NIG LTD, was given a Special Award of VOCATIONAL/COMMUNITY SERVICE in recognition of his outstanding services to the community and vocation.
According to the citation on Engr. Dom Okafor, he served his community, Igboukwu, as Ag Secretary General; the Catholic Church, as a Knight of St Mulumba, and the Rotary Club of as Club President, Port Harcourt. During his tenure he was adjudged the best President for his monumental achievements.
He also became the Asst District Governor of Rotary International, District 9140, during which he served meritoriously.
He was commended for his outstanding contributions in uplifting the Aguata Metropolis Rotary Club by the District Governor, Rtn Dr Emma Akpeh and the Aguata Metropolis Rotary club President, Rtn Rev Fr. Dr Innocent Nweke.
Engr Okafor who stormed the venue with his numerous supporters from across Aguata and Anambra State, promised to sponsor the first five first Rotarians for Rotary Business Training anywhere in the world, and donated $1000 for the admission of the Chapter President, Fr. Dr. Nweke, to become a Paul Harris Fellow.
He later donated heavily to the Club to sustain the club.
Engr Okafor also presented the Rotary Club Award to Barr Ezewuzie Bertrand, the SSA to the Governor of Anambra State on Disability Matters, for his numerous accomplishments in life.
The Aguata Metropolis Rotary Club finally received the Chatter Certificate signed by Ian H. S. Riseley, the Rotary International President, 2017-2018.
