…As Hon. Nwafor Empowers Constituents

A physically challenged orphan, Kelechi Mba, has been gifted with a tricycle to aid his mobility, by the member representing Orumba South Constituency, Hon. Emmanuel Nwafor.

Hon. Nwafor presented the tricycle to the challenged orphan recently at Victory High School, Ezira, during one of empowerment programmes organized by the legislature to add meaning to the lives of his constituents.

Mba, who is currently a National Diploma 1 student of the department of Computer Engineering at Federal Polytechnic Oko, Orumba North LGA, Anambra State, received the tricycle, together with his tutorial fees, to aid his dream of becoming one of the best computer engineers across the globe.

Narrating his ordeal before receiving the tricycle, he explained that going to school had become a huge task as he resided in his home community, Ezira. He explained that most times, drivers did not stop for him due to the time it would take them to fold his wheel chair while entering their buses, noting that such made him miss three of his papers during the examination.

‘I’m a Computer Engineering student at the Federal Polytechnic and it has been very difficult taking buses to school on daily basis. Even during the last concluded examinations, I missed three of my papers because one doesn’t meet a kind and good hearted driver on daily basis. The treatment I receive from drivers depends on the personality of the person involved. Some drivers don’t even stop at all when you flag them down, while others stop and make provision for me in front of their vehicle.

He thanked Hon. Nwafor whom he described as a God send to the people of Orumba South, even as he described his human-oriented projects as very visible.

Speaking to Fides, the Law maker, Hon. Nwafor, disclosed that the donation was in-line with his vision of delivering the dividends of democracy to the poorest of the poor at grassroots level. He pledged to assist the disabled orphan to the peak of his educational quest to ensure he attained his full potentials.

Engr. Nwafor described education as one of the vital aspects of his legislative business and explained that plans had been in motion on how to make Orumba South constituents educationally inclined, saying that education was key to many developmental projects.
