Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) Chairman, Onitsha Area Command, Sir. Victor Agubisi has advocated a closer cooperation among security agencies and members of the public.

He spoke to our correspondent in Onitsha at the weekend said it had become necessary because of the dwindling nature of intelligence gathering among conventional security agencies across the country.

Sir. Agubisi who is popularly referred as “Action Chairman” disclosed that intelligence gathering which the various security organizations in the country were known in the past was fast fading away and called for synergy among all security apparatus in Nigeria.

The PCRC Boss said that lack of proper investigation and cooperation on intelligence gathering have become a source of worry to the citizens and law enforcement agents who are brutally murdered by criminals on daily basis across the country.

The Vice-Chairman, PCRC, Zone 9 Umuahia noted that in the past when there existed cooperation among all security agencies in the country, it was a rare occurrence to hear about the killing of security agents and attributed the current insecurity in various parts of the country to decline on intelligence.

He maintained that if insecurity must come to a drastic decline all the security agencies and the Nation’s political leadership should be patriotic enough to share information among themselves as well as end politicisation of security matters.

Sir. Agubisi advised influencial Nigerians, especially politicians to cooperate with the judiciary to expedite actions on cases of insecurity before their courts.

The PCRC Boss further cautioned citizens against meddling in criminal matters or influencing the judiciary against the dictates of the law.
