OurMumuDon Do Visits Fides

By Amaka Olua

Our Mumudondo Movement last Tuesday paid an unscheduled visit to Fides Communications as part of its meeting with stakeholders in furtherance of its nationwide sensitization campaign on the need for the electorate to get their voter cards.
The group, a brainchild of the popular Nigerian musician and social crusader, Charly Boy, has been in the vanguard of the campaign for social justice and fairness.
The delegation to Fides by the Anambra State Chapter was led by its state coordinator, Comrade Ndubisi Anaenugwu.
Explaining their mission to Fides, Comrade Anaenugwu, said the movement was focused on bringing hope to the common man, saying that the movement came into existence when Charlie Boy advised them to create a platform through which to sensitize people and to create awareness for the people to know the importance of the voter card and their role in government.
He stated that the movement was for the angry and frustrated people in the state who could not speak for themselves, even as he added that the movement was for the common man to understand the concept and basis for social contract as a necessary pact between the people and the political class.
He said this was in order for them to demand a greater access to government through transparent and accountable leadership to prevent corruption by getting involved and performing their civic duties. This was even as he said the movement would focus on inclusive participation in democracy and discouraging of trading of votes during elections.
Receiving the delegates, the Editor-in-chief of Fides Communications, Hon Jude Atupulazi, appreciated them for their visit, saying that Fides was devoted to serving the public and whose interest it always protected.
He stated that elections offered the citizenry the opportunity to usher in the right kind of leaders and urged them not to lose hope, given the hardship in the country. He therefore charged them to make use of their power as provided by their voter card, to change things in the country.
He commended their efforts and advised them not to relent in spreading the good news.
