Orumba South Rep, Stakeholders, Others, Endorse Soludo’s Candidacy

Ahead November 6, governorship election in Anambra State, the member Representing Orumba South Constituency in Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Emmanuel Nwafor, alongside notable stakeholders in the area, has endorsed the candidacy of Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, the frontline aspirant on the platform of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.

Hon. Nwafor who hosted Soludo’s visit to Orumba South LGA on Saturday, May 15, in his country home, Ezira, galvanized massive support for the APGA frontline aspirant from APGA faithful and important stakeholders in the area.

Fides gathered that the throng of APGA faithful that graced the occasion was as a result of Hon. Nwafor’s people-oriented representation and his open door policy for the delivery of the dividends of democracy to the masses.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Nwafor described Soludo as a visionary leader that had all the needed qualities to consolidate the legacy projects of Chief Willie Obiano, saying that he would bring solution to outstanding issues in Anambra.

‘Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo is the best candidate that has the will to pilot the affairs of Anambra State which the opposition is fully aware of.  It is crystal clear that Anambra has gotten the qualities and potentials of what they want in soludo; thereby unanimously, they endorsed him and we are also endorsing him today too.

Nwafor who serves as the Chairman of House Committee on Public Utilities in the State House of Assembly, commended Governor Obiano, for the giant strides he has recorded in the state’s affairs and noted that Prof. Soludo would carry on with the transformation agenda of the current administration.

He said that Soludo’s acceptance to join the race for the governorship of the state was a great honour to the people of Anambra State as his exploits in CBN had shown the stuff he was made of.

He said the party had given the mandate to Prof. Soludo to fly the party’s flag and party members must be guided by the party leadership’s decision as they equally had the power to either suspend or remove whoever went against its decision.

He appealed to APGA the faithful to support Soludo to win the party’s primary and fly the party’s flag to emerge the next governor of the state.

Also speaking, an Nnamdi Azikiwe University Don, Prof. Steve Ibenta, while doing a recitation on the man Soludo, expressed optimism that if given the opportunity he would deliver the dividends of democracy. He described Soludo as a person with international reputation and one with capacity to transform Anambra into Dubai and Thailand of Africa, saying that leadership was all about implementation of ideas.

According to the Former Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Chief Emeka Sibeudu, the coming together was in line with APGA’s mode of operation, saying that the party looked out for people with capacity and invested power to such persons. He maintained that the party had decided on who to fly their flag and there was need for one to support and work in accordance with the directives of the party.

Contributing, former representative of Orumba North/South Federal Constituency, Rt Hon. Ben Nwankwo, said that a statement had been made by AGPA and advised APGA not to lose the inner peace which they have. He said that a consensus had been reached and such was required to maintain the peace which the party had been enjoying.

According to the member representing, Anambra East/West in the Federal House of Representative, Hon. Chinedu Obidigbo, Soludo had no enemy and had the capacity to execute more outstanding projects for Anambra. He beconked on Ndi Orumba not to allow themselves to be deceived, via their decision about who to vote for in the upcoming primary.

Responding, the former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, appreciated all for the massive show of support, noting that such was required for him to emerge victorious in the party primary. He said that Aguata to him constituted of 45 communities and said he was a part and parcel of Aguata which Orumba was a part of in OAU.

He pleaded with them to support him and acknowledged that those contesting with him were also qualified, saying that APGA required only one person for the movement and purpose of the party to be actualized.

He said that people had championed a lot of mobilization for his campaign without him putting his money. He said that after his feats in the international and national front, he had returned home to conclude with putting Anambra into the landmark as the Land of Promise.

He promised to unveil the master plan which he had for Orumba People after the primary in his next visit, noting that Orumba had great potentials that would be harnessed to enable people to fish for the rest of their lives.
