Onyemaechi Bags Integrity in Stewardship Award

A Non-Governmental Organisation, Center for Peace and Self-value Reorientation (CPSR), last Tuesday at the ASHIA Headquarters in Awka, honoured the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra State Health Insurance Agency, Dr. Simeon Onyemaechi, with Integrity in Stewardship Award.

Presenting the plaque, the leader and Executive Director of the group, Mr. Oyibo Abraham, said, ‘Our organization is doing a programme on good governance in the Six Geographical Zones, the essence of which is to bring MDAs that we found to be ethically responsible in the discharge of their duties on this platform.

This occasion could not have come at a better time than now, considering the fact that Anambra State today, is on a threshold of rapid social and economic development through the implementation of the Solution Agenda of the State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo.

‘The role of ethical leadership in the socio-economic development and effective manpower development of any country cannot be over emphasized. Hence, our visit here today is to say a big thank you for thinking right, acting ethics and serving as advocate for good governance.

‘You, therefore, have a great role to play by ensuring that there is adequate policy framework in harnessing and developing the health sector in Anambra State, especially the State Health Insurance Scheme, that will guarantee obedience to the rule of law and enhancement of economic and social welfare of the State.’

Continuing, Mr. Oyibo said, ‘Having been satisfied with the said assessment exercise conducted, we are left with no option than to induct you today, 2nd May, 2023, with the title, ”Service Ambassador” and the presentation of this certificate of Integrity Stewardship. You are hereby, declared an Outstanding Leader in Service.

Responding, Dr. Onyemaechi appreciated them for the recognition and award accorded him as he reiterated his commitment to using his office to serve Ndi Anambra and double his efforts in ensuring that people from the various communities in the state did not suffer catastrophic health expenditure, once they registered with ASHIA.

He also said the enrolees chose any facility of their choice and then started benefiting from the scheme. He dedicated the award to the ASHIA team.
