The insecurity, hardship and other social vices rampaging Nigeria can only be overcome through prayer.
This was revealed by a guest speaker at a one-day prayer summit organized by Ameka Catholic Community, Onitsha Branch.
The event which attracted many Catholic faithful from Ebonyi State living in Anambra State, witnessed prayer, teachings, deliverance, questions and answers from the participants.
In his lecture, the guest speaker, Bro. Ezekiel Alegu, said the quest of youths to make money was becoming worrisome, asserting that kidnapping, killings by unknown gunmen, and all other criminalities could only be overcome with prayers.
According to him, when a Nation faced such challenges, the only option would be to beckon God as only him, through his Only Son, Jesus Christ, could salvage such challenges.
Bro. Alegu urged Christians all over the country to pray to God to save their country mostly in this period of transition to a new government.
The Guest Speaker further charged parents to give their children proper home training, mostly by teaching them the ways of the Lord and also monitoring the kind of friends they kept as, according to him, such would go a long way in reducing what he called the evils the youth indulged in.
In his own speech, the Chairman of Ameka Catholic Community, Onitsha Branch, Hon. Emmanuel Nweke, who could not hide his joy over the huge turnout of the members who participated in this year’s prayer summit, thanked the organizers and urged the participants to make use of what they leant from the prayer summit.
In his vote of thanks, the former Chairman of the organization, Bro John Obaji, thanked the guest speaker, whom, he said, God had used in lifting the community, prayed God to give him more wisdom, good health and longer life.
