Comrade Nelson Omenugha last Monday marked the tenth anniversary of serving as the president of the Students Union Government (SUG), of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka Chapter.
The former students’ leader, as part of his Tenth Anniversary as SUG president, presented textbooks and other items to his alma mater
He expressed what he described as absolute confidence on the leadership of the new Vice-Chancellor, Prof Charles Esimone.
The expanded leadership of the 2009/10 Students’ Union Government of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, led by Comrade Nelson Omenugha, paid a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Charles Esimone.
Speaking during the visit, Omenugha expressed gratitude to the university for providing him the platform to build leadership strength in readiness for the present and future tasks.
He expressed confidence in the new Vice-Chancellor, Prof Charles Esimone, highlighting his strategic role at grooming and transforming the School of Pharmacy during his previous position as the Dean of pharmaceutical sciences.
In his remark, the Vice-Chancellor expressed gratitude to the team for the thoughtfulness and kind disposition towards the university.
He assured the team that he would work closely with the past and present student community in order to realize the ‘project 200′ vision of his administration.
He reiterated that the alumni was an integral body of the university as it served vital purposes, ranging from donating projects to the varsity, championing students centered initiatives that had a prospect of face lifting the students’ wellbeing and putting them in the limelight of achievers.
The highlight of the day was the unveiling of the anniversary cake and donation of cartons of textbooks across Medical, Law and Business Management fields of study.
Those present included, Prof. Carol Umeobi, DVC Academics, Dr. Barr. Philomena, Registrar, among others.
