A Federal House hopeful for Aguata Federal Constituency, Engr Dom Okafor, has shared his experiences at the just concluded Global Training for Leaders Convention by Rotary International in Toronto, Canada.
The former President of Rotary Club, Port Harcourt and Assistant Governor of District 9140, said he was part of the training which focused on making the world, countries and communities safe today and for future generations, as part of a deliberate effort to widen his global knowledge preparatory to representing his people in the Federal House. Mrs Laura Bush, former United States first lady, gave the keynote address.
Okafor said, ‘I have undergone several Rotary International global trainings for several years, and this has prepared me for the kind of quality credentials and pedigree that have made me what I am today.
‘I want to bring a Breath of fresh air, as well as some innovations into representation in Aguata Federal Constituency. It’s not just about going there, but going to make an impact, based on one’s understanding of the political dynamics in the state and country,’ he said.
He described the training in Canada as worthwhile and invaluable and urged aspirants into political offices to endeavour to avail themselves of such opportunities to better themselves.
On the journey so far, he expressed satisfaction with the response from his constituents, urging them to continue keeping faith with him.
