Ogbaru Women Enjoined to Champion Cause of Peace And Unity

Women in Ogbaru Local government have been asked to champion the cause of peace and unity in the area.

The member representing Ogbaru two Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Mr. Somtochukwu Udeze, gave the advice during the Ogbaru Women Home and Abroad general meeting held at Buwa Foundation hall, Akili Ozizor Community in Ogbaru Local government.
According to Mr. Udeze, women are the pillars of their families and society at large and have the ability and gift to transform the society through trainings, directing and redirecting the mind set of their family members and the society.

He enjoined them to disassociate themselves from any act that can cause disunity in the Council area, and to fight and support initiatives that would make Ogbaru great, describing Ogbaru people as peaceful and happy people.

Speaking also, the Senator representing Anambra North Senatorial District, at the National Assembly, Senator Stella Oduah, while appreciating the women for championing peace in the area, assured them of her support and announced that she would reintroducing the Igba Odu Title in Ogbaru as a way of promoting women dignity and respect in Ogbaru, Council area.

Senator Oduah represented by Anambra State Commissioner for Girl’s Guide Association, Barrister Helen Obi expressed optimism that with the introduction of Ogbaru Women forum, their lost values will be regained.

On her part, the Coordinator of Ogbaru Women, Evangelist Adaeze Chukwuma, thanked God for the success recorded since the inception of the meeting last year and expressed hope that the aim will be achieved.

Also speaking, the Acting President of the Organization , Dr. Vera Nzekwe, while thanking God and the initiators of the vision of building the new Ogbaru through the women, expressed joy that they are already sixty per cent nearer to their achieving their vision.
The conference attracted large numbers of Ogbaru people, including Women from all the villages in the council area.
