. . . Donates Six Borehole to Six Communities

The need to provide clean water in the rural communities is one of the cardinal points of this years commemoration of World Water Day.
As a follow up to this exercise, the Transition Committee chairman of Ogbaru Local Government, Comrade Arinzechukwu Awogu in his unflinching desire to make a positive difference in the lives of the people has handed six boreholes to six communities in the Council Area built by his administration in line with the state Government policy in improving the living standard of the rural dwellers.
Fides reports that access to clean water is a major challenge that has lingered for long in some communities of Ogbaru.
However the plight of the people over unavailability of good drinking water has been alivated by the government hence the sinking of boreholes and provision of power generating sets for the communities.
Handing over the boreholes and power generating sets to power the water projects, the council chairman pointed out that the well being of citizens of the state is the top priority of Governor Obiano administration as he leaves no stone unturned in fulfilling the wishes of the people.
Comrade Awogu who urged the people to continue to support and appreciate Governor Obiano administration for bringing development to the rural communities charged them to take ownership of government facilities in their areas to ensure their safety and maintenance.
Receiving the project, on behalf of the communities, Messrs Bananas Okoro, Simon Omordi and Mrs Mercy Nzekwe among others said they are thankful to government for handling the issue of water in their community while commending the council boss for attracting state government presence in their community.
They assured him that the water project will be taken care of and the purpose for which it was provided will be achieved.
The benefitting communities include, Atani, Obene, Ochuche-Umuodu, Mputu and Ossomala communities promising to extend to more communities to ensure provision of clean and portable drinking water to rural dwellers.
