The Acting Chairman, Editorial Board of The Oracle Today Newspapers, and a Contributing writer with the Fides Newspaper of the Catholic Diocese of Awka, Comrade Odogwu Emeka Odogwu, PhD, was among the over 6,750 Post Graduate Degree awardees at the 14th Convocation Ceremonies of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State.

Odogwu, who bagged his PhD in Mass Communication/Print Journalism Option, has been an Editor of The Oracle Today Newspaper, South-East/South-South, and Editor, The Authority Newspaper, South-East. He has worked with the Vanguard, The Nation, The Champion, The Nigerian Pilot, Leadership Newspapers, and the Anambra Broadcasting Service, among others, as a Guest Artiste.

Odogwu is currently the Director, Media, Research, Communication and Public Relations, Diocese of Awka and Province on the Niger, Anglican Communion. He is a famous blogger in South Eastern Nigeria and he is the Chairman of the Board of Odogwu Media Communications Limited, publishers of Odogwu is also a commentator on national issues, media consultant and a publicist.

Of the number, one thousand nine hundred and fifty four were for Postgraduate Diplomas; six hundred and ten, Master's Degrees and three hundred and thirty nine, PhD Degrees for the 2018 and 2019 academic year.

Some of the recipients, Dr Odogwu Emeka Odogwu; Dr Iyke Nwokedi; and Dr Henry Duru, expressed joy for the honor done to them.
Speaking to newsmen, Dr Odogwu tasked all young people to be dedicated and diligent in whatever they found themselves, noting that only hard work paid.

'Those in academics should be focused and get higher in their academic pursuit after youth service, rather than wait indefinitely for jobs as the additional qualifications will grant them access to higher job pedestals,' Odogwu said, noting that his PhD programme was the best thing that had happened to him as it had launched him into another realm.

President Muhammadu Buhari was represented at the convocation ceremony by the executive secretary, National Universities Commission, Professor Abubakar Rasheed.
In his address the Chancellor, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, His Majesty DaJacob GyangBuba, Gbong Gwom Jos, commended the Governing Council of Unizik and the Vice Chancellor, Professor Charles Esimone, for conducting a transparent and rancour free Vice Chancellor selection process.

The Acting Pro Chancellor and chairman of the Governing Council, Unizik Alhaji Isa Modibbo, in his address, congratulated all those who were conferred with honorary degrees and urged them to continue to support the growing mantra of Unizik.

For his part, the Vice Chancellor Professor Charles Esimone, said he was committed to making Unizik among the best two hundred Universities in the world, adding that he was adopting the core mandate of Universities the world over which hinged on teaching, research and public community service in order to excel and push for academic excellence.

Honorary Doctorate degrees were conferred on Chief Innocent Chukwuma, CEO Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company, and Chief Daniel Chukwudozie, were conferred with Doctor of Industrial Engineering and Doctor of Commerce, respectively.
