The Anglican Bishop of Awka Diocese, Right Reverend Alexander Ibezim, has confirmed thirty Five inmates of Nigeria Prison Service, Awka.
Bishop Ibezim was accompanied to the special service which took place at the Chapel of Compassionate, Nigeria Prisons Service, by some prison officials; wife of the Bishop, Mrs Marta Ibezim and Clergy; wives, among others.
The bishop charged the inmates to embrace the way to salvation to enjoy freedom.
He reminded them of the power of prayers which set the biblical Paul and Silas free from prison, stating that they should not be depressed but rather see their situation as a moment of rehabilitation and remoulding for new consciousness.
Bishop Ibezim asked them to hold unto Christ, and repent of their sins, as according to him, God was preparing them for a better future, citing Nelson Mandel and other notable figures in the world who were once prisoners but later became celebrities. He prayed God to attain to their desires and transform their lives.
