The clergy and laity of the Anglican Diocese of Aguata last Sunday celebrated the golden jubilee birthday of the wife of the Bishop of the Diocese, Mrs. Chinyere Ezeofor, at the Cathedral Church of St John, Ekwulobia.
In his sermon, the Bishop Emeritus of Ihiala Anglican Diocese, the Right Reverend Ralph Okafor, underlined the importance of Christians in imbibing the life of gratitude and thanksgiving to God for the gift of life which, he said, included living a life of righteousness.
The Bishop of Aguata Diocese, Right Reverend Ezeofor, and the celebrant, Mrs. Ezeofor, in their responses appreciated God for his faithfulness on their family, promising that the family would positively affect other people, especially the poor and downtrodden.
Mrs. Ezeofor also launched her first gospel album and the "Generous God Education Fund Foundation", initiated by the Episcopal couple to help the less privileged and out of school children gain access to qualitative education.
