Succour has come the way of the people of Unubi in Nnewi South Constituency I with the commissioning of a water borehole to end their perennial search for water from neighbouring communities.
The project, which was executed by the member representing Nnewi South Constituency I in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Mr Kingsley Iruba, is situated at the community’s market square.
Commissioning the project, Governor Willie Obiano who was represented by a one-time Commissioner for Information and Culture in the State, Chief Maja Umeh, commended the lawmaker for proper utilization of his constituency fund and announced that Mr Iruba had justified the mandate given to him by executing gigantic projects in all the communities that made up the constituency.
Governor Obiano commended the people of Nnewi South Local Government Area for utilizing their twenty million Naira Community-choose-your-project Initiative and the unflinching support to his administration.
In his remark, the benefactor, Mr Iruba, explained that the borehole he sunk in the community was what the people requested from him as it would solve their water challenges.
He added that the water borehole had a generating set he put in place to ensure regular water supply to the people and called on the people to safeguard the project from vandalism.
In their separate speeches, the member representing Ihiala Constituency I in the State House of Assembly, Mr Chidi Udemmadu, his Anaocha II counterpart, Mr. Charles Ezeani, and the member for Orumba North Constituency, Chief Romanus Obi, said that Mr Iruba had left his footprints on the sands of time through legacy projects.
