The immediate past governor of Anambra State and Vice Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Mr. Peter Obi, has condemned the attackonf Maersk boss, Mr. Gildas Tohouo, and the stabbing to death of his wife, Bernadette Kurucz. Obi spoke in Abuja, last Tuesday during the public presentation of “ The Big Interviews”, a book written by the immediate Managing Director of Sun Newspaper, Mr. Eric Osagie, at Musa Yar’ Adua Centre, Abuja.

Obi said such an attack, besides diminishing ‘our common humanity,’ was retrogressive to the country because of negative signals to investors that they were not safe in the country.

Obi, who encouraged security agencies to make sure all those indicted in the attack were dealt with according to the law, thanked the Lagos Police Commissioner for his assurances of safety to residents of Lagos.

Obi encouraged security agencies to get to the root of the matter so as to re-assure investors and, indeed, Nigerians, of their safety.

Obi, taking the opportunity to commend Mr. Eric Osagie on his book, advised young journalists to see the likes of Osagie as role models.

‘The tenacity, hardwork and resilience that saw him reach the peak of his career are stimulating examples that young ones can understudy,’ Obi submitted.
