Director-General of National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim, has provided a submersible water pumping machine to the Benue NYSC orientation camp located at Wanune in Tarka Local Government Area of the state.
The Public Relations Officer of NYSC in Benue State, Victoria Ogwuche, disclosed this in a statement issued and made available to our correspondent in Makurdi last Monday.
She said the provision of the submersible pump machine would mitigate the problem of potable water in the camp.
The PRO said that the NYSC State Coordinator, Abbe Dankaro, appreciated the gesture of the Director-General for the gesture which would go a long way to reduce the water problem been faced by corps members at the orientation camp.
Ogwuche quoted the State Coordinator stating, ‘It has greatly reduced the existing water problem and has increased the volume of water supply in our camp environs.’
The statement said that the State Coordinator also purchased 110 pieces of plastic chairs as well as 19 pieces of ceiling fans.
In the same vein, 2,000 corps members of Batch C Stream II serving in Benue State had been trained in digital technology skills.
In a statement issued on Monday by the NYSC PRO, Victoria Ogwuche, said that the corps members were trained by Mind the Gap Digital Onboarders in conjunction with NYSC, Benue State.
Ogwuche said that the training is aimed at making the youths digital entrepreneurs, to position them for the global economy.
The statement added that the State CDS Assistant Director, Awaje Peter encouraged corps members to make the best use of opportunities in the digital world by leveraging on the skill being taught.
