Mr Ayodele Adegoke, Coordinator, NYSC Osun State, has told the 2020 Batch A Corps Members that their return to camp is to make them productive and prepare them for life after service year and that they should not perceive it as a waste of time.
Adegoke stated this while addressing the corps members during the Carnival/ Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Competition at the NYSC permanent orientation camp, Ede, Osun State last Saturday.
‘White collar job is no longer feasible in the society and the only means of survival in the current situation of the country is to equip oneself with relevant skills and be productive in the society,’.
‘Getting a well paying job is acutely scarce in the society, you should therefore endeavur to take the skills you acquired during your SAED training seriously in order to survive in the society,’. he added.
He equally reminded the corps members of the need to continue adhering to the COVID-19 preventive protocols even as they dance and show the respective skills they had learnt during the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) in-camp training.
Subsequently, he appreciated the camp officials for their resilient and relentless effort responsible for the smooth running of the extended orientation programme, as he encouraged them to keep up the good works as he declared the Carnival and Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development competition/exhibition officially open.
Reacting, Mrs Femi-Ajayi Olufunmilayo, Head of Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED), NYSC Osun State, commended the corps members for their dedication and determination during the SAED in camp training, stressing that the corps members are unique and she believes that they will utilize their acquired skills in the larger society.
‘Ensure that you do not drop the skills you learnt on camp as this may be your source of income in the society,’.
Meanwhile, some corps members who performed outstandingly during the training were equally awarded with amazing prizes in order to motivate and keep them focused on their goals.
