NYSC Osun Pays Homage To Orangun Palace, Seeks Continued Support

The NYSC Osun State Coordinator, Mrs Olayinka Abdulwahab, recently paid a courtesy visit to the Orangun of Oke-Ila, Oba Adedokun Omoniyi Abolarin, Aroyinkeye 1, in his Palace in Òkè-Ìlà, Ifedayo LGA.

During the visit, she appreciated the entire community of Oke-Ila for its unwavering support to the achievement of the Scheme’s objectives

According to her, the NYSC Scheme is very grateful for the care and attention bestowed by the King on the Corps Members and staff members posted to the town.

‘As part of my initial responsibilities since assuming office in the State, we are here to appreciate His Royal Majesty for always taking care of our Personnel and Corps Members and keeping them from harm’s way,’ she said.

In his speech, the Orangun of Oke-Ila, reiterated that his fondness for Corps Members stems from the way he perceives them as the delicate future of our nation who must be carefully and appropriately mentored on nation building.

‘This is my 16th year on the throne and year-in year-out, I encourage these youths that are just kickstarting their life to not underestimate the wonders that their little bit could do to facilitate nation building.’, he said.

The Royal father commended Rtd General Yakubu Gowon and his erstwhile team for thinking of and implementing such a brilliant idea which has significantly and noticeably helped integrate our disunited nation.

He prayed the Coordinator and her team record more successes and milestones and as well prayed for a successful, mishap-free service year for Corps Members in the State.

In a related development, the Royal father took the delegation on a tour of his School, Abolarin College, which caters for indigent students who are socially disadvantaged and downtrodden. Students there are offered free education and accommodation all provided by the traditional ruler.

The State Coordinator commended the King for setting a standard learning environment with well-equipped and well-kept facilities made available on the school premises.

Additionally, Mrs Olayinka Abdulwahab addressed Corps Members in the town, assuring them of their safety during their service year. She emphasized adherence to all NYSC rules promising that defaulters will have no one else but themselves to blame when they are caught.

Abdulahi Adamu; the Assistant Director PPRU, Mrs Funmi Okundaye; the Assistant Director SAED, Mr Aleshinloye Adeniyi; the Assistant Director Finance and Accounts, Mrs Daramola Olubunmi; among others.
