NYSC DG CHARGES CORPS EMPLOYERS TO PROVIDE MEASURES TO MAXIMIZE PRODUCTIVITY OF CORPS MEMBERS

Corps Employers have been charged to provide measures in their workplace to make Corps Members perform maximally at all times.

The charge was given by Brigadier-General YD Ahmed, Director-General, NYSC in his keynote address at the 2023 NYSC/Employers’ workshop, at the Conference Hall, Federal Secretariat Complex,Awka Anambra State.

Speaking through the Deputy Director, South East Area Office,Mr Aluyor Osekhemeh, the Director-General said that it was only by the Corps Employers playing their role that the  investment on Corps Members aimed at grassroot development would not only be actualized but equally appreciated.

He said that the workshop with the theme “Enhancing the Well-being of Corps Members for Optimal Productivity” was targeted at getting feedback from NYSC stakeholders and finding ways to make the operations of the scheme better and the output of the Corps Members more effective and efficient.

In his goodwill message, the Governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Soludo called on workers in the state including Corps Members to be promoters of Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development in order to produce youth that would be skilled enough not only to be self reliant but equally employers of labour.

Repreented by the Chairman, NYSC State Governing Board, Hon Patrick Aghaduwno Mba, the Governor said that the fixture of the workshop was timely as it was organised at a time that his administration was mobilizing forces to ensure that the youth of the state were mentored, trained and adequately empowered to be entrepreneurs and employers of labour.

The Governor believes that the dream of the state would only be largely realised through the involvement of Corps Employers and Corps Members.

Governor Soludo promised to always support the scheme at all times within the limit of available reasources.

On her part, the State Coordinator, NYSC Anambra State, Mrs Blessing Ekene Iruma, expressed her appreciation to the Governor of the state, Professor Charles Soludo for consistently creating enabling  environment for the scheme to operate.

She maintained that “the favourable disposition of the governor on issues concerning the scheme is a clear manifestation of his youth driven polices and his dogged determination to ensure that the state continues to be the light of the nation.’

Mrs Iruma equally thanked the Director-General of NYSC for approving the hosting of the workshop and believed that the workshop participants would go home more enriched on how to make the Corps Members more productive.
