The medical services provided at the outreach included free eye care, checking of blood pleasure and other related illnesses.

Speaking at the flag-off ceremony which held at the Umunze Health Centre, Mr. Nwafor said the intervention was to complement the great work being done by the state government.
He said the choice to start the New Year with a free medical outreach was to ensure that his constituents had a healthy life throughout the year as health was wealth.

Hon. Nwafor added that with good health, other democracy dividends would make the intended impact.

The lawmaker revealed that the free medical outreach, which started on Friday, February 7, 2020, would cut across all the fifteen communities in his constituency and would last till the 14th of February.

He stated that apart from the medical outreach and youth empowerment programmes earlier conducted, massive infrastructural developments were ongoing in the area, including road projects at every part of the local government, courtesy of Governor Willie Obiano.

The traditional ruler of Eziagu, Igwe Bernard Emeguo, and his Owerre-Ezukalla counterpart, Igwe Thomas Ogbonnaya, said the ultimate way for addressing the shortcomings in the health challenges was regular check-ups and appreciated the lawmaker for his quest in ensuring that all attained a healthy life.

For the President General of Umunze Progressive Union, Mr. John Akayionu, the lawmaker’s intervention was very commendable. He assured that they would continue to work together to ensure that the people enjoyed those essential benefits of dividends of democracy

Some indigenes of the area, including Mr. Simeon Onunkwo, who received eye glasses and Mrs. Angela Igboekwe, lauded the initiatives of Mr. Nwafor and his quality representation.
