The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE, Orumba South Local Government Area, has honoured the chairman of the Local Government Area, Chief Raymond Onyegu, with an exceptional recognition and award of excellence
According to the chairman of NULGE in Orumba South Local Government Area, Comrade Chioma Mokah, the honour was in recognition of Onyegu’s selfless service in the area, including sponsoring free medical services for the local government workforce, attracting and funding free legal services, immigration and security operations in the area.
The President of NULGE in Anambra State, Comrade Chikwelu Adigwe, and the chairman of NULGE, in Orumba South Local Government, Comrade Mokah, who described the award as deserving, said NULGE would continue to support the political class in achieving desired results at the local government system, urging him to sustain the good work that earned him the recognition.
Receiving the award, Chief Onyegu, who thanked Governor Willie Obiano for giving him the opportunity to serve and respond to the needs of people of the areas, said the local government workforce was instrumental to all he had achieved, even as he pledged sustained efforts in achieving more results.
The chairman, Anambra State Local Government Service Commission, Sir Peter Egenti, and the member representing Orumba South in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Honourable Emma Nwafor, who described the award on Chief Onyegu as deserving, enjoined the political class and the local government workforce to synergize in increasing productivity in the local government system.
The political class, technocrats, as well as community leaders from all the fifteen communities in Orumba South Local Government Area and beyond, who attended the event, later visited the immigration facilities at the council headquarters attracted by Chief Onyegu.
