The National Union of Anambra State Students, NUASS, Anambra State Chapter, has expressed her intention to build a lasting relationship with Fides Media. The student’s body through their executive, disclosed their intention, August 8, during a courtesy visit to Fides Director, Rev Fr Dr Martin Anusi, at Fides Media Complex, Okpuno, Awka South L.G.A., Anambra State.
Fides gathered that the partnership which the executive seeks to establish with Fides is geared at developing the potentials of the students in the state, with Fides being perceived as a training ground.
Speaking to the NUASS delegates, Rev Fr Anusi, expressed joy over their visit, saying he felt delighted working and speaking with the youths. He expressed belief in the ability of the youths, describing them as the leaders of tomorrow.
He charged them to be creative and develop their talents in what they were good at.
He stated that what made them great was the power within them and what they were able to achieve. He added that gathering the youths and speaking to them was one of his greatest joys.
Fr Anusi who stated that the priority of many youths today was how to make money, charged them not to pursue money, but to let money pursue them.
He encouraged them to make themselves excellent and find out who they really were, challenging them to discover themselves and make use of their talents.
This was even as he advised them to turn themselves into champions and decide what kind of persons they would like to become.
He maintained that the cause of poverty was not money, but the absence of creativity, saying he cared for the well-being of the young people. He urged them not to allow politics to have control over them, saying that greatness did not come from where they belonged but from within them.
He urged them to invest in their talents, saying if they wisely used them, they would have no reason not to succeed in life. He maintained that their devices were not only meant for answering calls but to use them to make money online which, he said, was trending now.
Fr Anusi tasked the students on self-creativity and to channel all their energy in what would make them succeed in life, even as he advised them not be carried away by material things which would add nothing in their lives.
He charged them to decide what kind of person they wanted to be, saying that God had given them everything and that it was left for them to decide.
He advised them not to waste their time in chasing shadows but to have the vision and mindset to develop their talents, saying people who made money invested with it. He therefore challenged them to invest their talents and become champions without allowing anyone to deceive them.
He described Fides Media as a training ground which developed the potentials of the young ones and advised them not to live their lives depending on others but to strive to make it on their own.
For his part, the Chaplain, St Camillus De Lellis Chaplaincy, Unizik, Okofia Campus, Rev Fr Chetenna Chukwuneke, encouraged the students to develop their talents and also to find out what they were good at, saying that the economic situation in Nigeria was harsh.
He maintained that with creativity they would achieve their goal, being in a digital world where they could use their devices to make money.
Also speaking, the President, NUASS, Rtr Chibuike Obiwuzie, commended the Fides Director for his patience and time, saying that the group was planning a programme which they would like the Fides Director to be the keynote speaker. He maintained that their visit was to establish a cordial relationship with Fides Media.
