The National Union of Anambra State Students Nationwide (NUASS), has elected new executive that will pilot the affairs of the association for the next one year.
The keenly contested election witnessed large turn out of Anambra State students from various higher institutions in Nigeria and other major stakeholders including the deputy President National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) and the Special Assistant to the Governor on students Matters and Mobilization, Hon. Comrade Innocent Nduanya and the Special Assistant to the Governor on Students’ matters, Comrade Sheriff Zadok Emeka Eboh, immediate past president of National Union of Anambra State Students Nationwide (NUASS), Comrade Chibunna Echegwo, among others.
The newly elected executive members are as follows: Comrade Obiwuzie Chibuike Kas from the Chukwukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu (COOU), Igbariam Campus emerged as the National President. He polled a total of 61 votes against 45 by his closest rival.

Secretary General, Comrade Chukwunonye Joseph C. from the University of Nigeria Nsukka – Financial Secretary, Comrade Okolo Afoma Joy from the Federal Polytechnic Oko -Treasurer

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected national president of NUASS, Comrade Obiwuzie Chibuike Kas expressed gratitude to God for the peaceful conduct of the election and also thanked the executive Governor of Anambra State, Chief (Dr. ) Willie Obiano for creating the enabling environment and for his fatherly love and care.
The chairman of the Electoral Committee, Comr. Benedict Chikezie announced the results of the election which was observed by the outgone national president of NUASS, Comr. Echegwo Godwin Chibunna, the Board of Trustees (BoT) Chairman, Comr Anozie Israel, BoT Vice Chairman Comr Ezeilo Franklin and host of BOT members from different zones.
In their separate speeches, Hon. Innocent Nduanya and his students’ affairs counterpart, Sherrif Zadok Emeka Eboh described the election as peaceful, fair and credible. The duo beckon on the public spirited individuals to assist the Anambra State students in the areas of bursary and welfare.
They urged the students to shun cultism, laziness and acts capable of bringing their families and the state to disrepute.
